The Old Timber Table Company is a true custom manufacturer and will build any piece to your exact specifications. However, I do have a basic design philosophy. Above all else, furniture should be pleasing to the eye. There were many disproportionate and awkward originals made, which some cabinetmakers replicate because of their unique looks. I feel that only the best of the original designs are worth the effort of re-creating. The most highly regarded originals are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The proportions of the overall pieces should be correct, and the individual components should balance and interrelate to each other effectively.
