Those familiar with better quality original antiques know their well aged appearance. Well preserved examples show the warm color of age, and the subtle marks of having been used and cared for over the centuries. Good examples rarely show any signs of abuse and would never be intentionally distressed. I subtly “age” each piece in a very methodical fashion to give the appearance of age and gentle wear. In addition, the extensive use of old, reclaimed timber, hand tools and authentic colors and finishes give my pieces the look of a gently used but well preserved original.
